What we collect

When you use ApartmentIQ we collect the address you search for, your Apple transaction ID (processed securely by Apple — we never see or store your payment card details), and the report results generated from NYC, SF, and LA public records. We also collect standard server logs (IP address, timestamp) for security and debugging purposes. On iOS, we may collect your device push token to notify you when your report is ready.

How we use it

We use your address solely to generate your building history report. We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes. Report results are stored in our database so you can access your report after purchase.

Data retention

Report results are stored so you can re-access your report at any time. Cached public records data (HPD violations, ownership, evictions) expires automatically between 1 hour and 7 days depending on the data type. You may request deletion of your report data by emailing us at privacy@apartmentiq.app.

Third-party services

  • Apple — in-app purchase payment processing via StoreKit. Apple's privacy policy governs payment data.
  • Anthropic (Claude) — AI synthesis of building data. Prompts include address and public record data only.
  • NYC Open Data — source of HPD violations, ACRIS records, and eviction data. All public information.
  • SF Open Data / DBI / Assessor-Recorder — source of SF building complaints, ownership, and eviction data. All public information.
  • LA Open Data (data.lacity.org) / LA County Assessor — source of LAHD violations, eviction notices, and property data. All public information.
  • Supabase — database and realtime hosting (US region).
  • PostHog — product analytics. Anonymous usage events only.
  • Sentry — error monitoring. Error reports may include technical context but no personal data.

Push notifications

If you allow notifications, we store your device push token temporarily to send you a single notification when your report finishes generating. We do not use push tokens for marketing. You can disable notifications at any time in iOS Settings.

Children's privacy

ApartmentIQ is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
